DAVAO CITY – For the first time, Sun Life Financial Philippines will be joining this year's Alveo Ironman 70.3 Davao by bringing actor and athlete Piolo Pascual and a free workout for members to highlight health and wellness this coming March 24.
Pascual, who will be racing as part of the Sun Life Tri-Team, will handle the bike leg for his relay team and will be joined by athletes Jan Michael Chiu (swim) and Toniel Ty (run).
"it's different when you are on the race day with people cheering you on. We chose Davao because it's a big place and make people in Davao realize the value of good health," Pascual said.
Pascual expressed excitement about racing in Davao for the first time as he will be exposed to a different scenery and different crowd. The actor is a regular participant in Ironman's Cebu race.
"As always it’s my honor to wear Sun Life's colors on race day," he said.
"We trained hard for this competition and we are excited to be here. We are here for the Davaoenos," Chiu said.
Meanwhile, Sun Life Business Development manager Herbert Juaneza and Sun Life Training manager Aslagan Cuyugan will race in the individual category.
