TAGUIG ROLLS OUT MODERN COMPUTER LABORATORIES
TAGUIG CITY – The Taguig City government has unveiled its 10 state-of-the-art cyber laboratories as part of its efforts to improve the quality of education to students of Taguig public schools.
The Multimedia Arts Cyber Laboratory (MAClabs) have been opened to nine high schools – Signal Village National High School, Pres. Diosdado Macapagal National High School, Western Bicutan National High School, Taguig National High School, Upper Bicutan National High School, Taguig Science High School, Ricardo Papa Memorial High School, Tipas National High School and Bagumbayan National High School.
Another computer facility will be opened at the Sen. Renato Compañero Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School later this month.
This forms the second phase of the CyberLab program introduced in 2012 to integrate information and communication technologies (ICT) in education among public schools in the city.
The CyberLab program involves internationally designed and locally aligned curricula, capacity-building for teachers, adapting classrooms and bringing in state-of-the art hardware.
MACLab, on the other hand, is a more developed concept using the Mac OS platform and targeted for Senior High School students. Implemented in 2018, it entails teacher training, renovation, and the delivery of Apple computers, courseware and online learning.
It is slated to offer courses or specializations in Digital Arts, Web Development and Programming.
The local government believes that having speedy, sleek and modern computers within the learning space makes the job of teaching students the ins and outs of even the most complex topics, such as animation, possible.
Taguig City Mayor Laarni Cayetano said the city council will continue to beef up their education programs and encouraged students to continue to strive for excellence.
“Kung ako nagagawa kong magtiwala sa pwede niyong marating, kayo din dapat. Taasan niyo yung tingin niyo sa sarili ninyo… At magiging kaagapay niyo kami sa lahat ng mga mithiin nating pang-edukasyon,” she added.
(If I was able to convince myself that I could achieve more, you should have the same mentality as mine. Believe in yourself. The Taguig City government will always be here to help you attain your goals in life.)
