DAVAO CITY— Women leaders, who are among the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women of the World of the Filipina Women  Network (FWN), a U.S. based non-profit, non-partisan global advocacy organization recently hold book reading sessions in various colleges and universities here to empower the youth particularly women leaders. 

The women leaders namely Philippines Bangladesh Honorary Consul General and founder and chairman of Joji Ilagan International Schools, Dr. Maria Beebe, co-founder of TechWomen Asia and President of Global Networks; Georgitta “Beng” Puyat, co-founder and chairman of the Philippine Orchard Corporation; Mylene Romualdez Abiva, president/CEO, FELTA Multi Media Inc highlighted the book entitled Disrupting 3.0 Filipina Rising, which they also authored and shared their experiences, opinions and personal stories on rising to leadership in the book reading sessions, which were similar to the book reading session in the House of Lords, United Kingdom. 
They shared their personal experiences and motivations to the students, faculty, and guests who attended the book reading sessions held at the Joji Ilagan International Management School (IMS), University of Immaculate Conception (UIC) and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU).
Bian said the book reading activities aim to empower the young generation especially the women on leadership to rise up against the current norm of the society. 
She said they are hoping their words will make ripples of change and transform every woman and man to lead and build a better society for the future generations.
Disrupting 3.0 was first launched at the House of Lords in the Parliament in London in September 2018 wherein 29 Filipina women leaders including Bian did their first reading in London. The book has 39 authors from United States, Philippines, United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, UAE who have contributed their opinions and personal stories on FWN Rising, Developing Leadership, Building Leadership, Leadership & Entrepreneurship, Being First and Foremost and Leading for Impact.
There are three Disrupt books with first book launched six years ago and the second book was launched two years ago. 
The book reading activity is part of FWN’s program the Filipina Women Leadership Book Series project that aims to fill the gap in the leadership literature and highlights the unique qualities of Filipina women whose culture, values, and faith make them effective leaders and managers.
The leadership book series chronicles Filipina women’s leadership skill sets, capabilities and expertise and how women contribute as active participants in the global workplace which elevate the presence and participation of Filipina women in the public and private sectors.(LON MIN)
